Gold Rush is a three-piece cover band that blends the sounds of six and twelve string acoustic guitars. With their precise three-part vocal harmonies, they reproduce some of the most treasured and timeless songs from the ’60s and ’70s. All three band members are well seasoned professional musicians with years of experience playing and singing a variety of musical styles. The performances are an exhilarating flashback to a time of good singers, good musicians, and great song writing.

Band Members

Robert Dixon

Robert Dixon, lead and harmony vocals, lead and rhythm guitars, grew up in rural Illinois just south of Chicago. He moved to Los Angeles in 1987 with a band seeking a professional music career. He played in several bands, recorded original music, and performed cover music with a variety of musicians in the Los Angeles area ranging in style from acoustic vocal harmony to hard rock. He began working in studios as a technician and in 1992 he started an amplifier service business that still provides tour support to many of the industry’s most notable artists. His love for the smooth vocal harmonies and acoustic based instrumentation from the Southern California music community in the ’70s is the genesis of this project.

Jeff Baker

Playing live music from the age of 13, Jeff Baker has played and sang professionally in many musical genres over the past 50 years, including pop, hard rock, progressive rock, jazz fusion, folk, country rock, and country and western. As a singer songwriter, he has opened for internationally known artists such as Freebo, Jeffrey Gaines, Fred Tackett and Paul Barrere of Little Feat, Dave Mason and Jim Capaldi of Traffic, Richie Havens, and Joe Walsh.

Having come of age during the ’70s, Jeff could not be happier playing and singing some of the best known songs from that era. Of all the musical endeavors he has undertaken over the years, none has left him happier or more satisfied than playing and singing these meticulously crafted acoustic arrangements of his favorite ’70s tunes with Robert and Dave in the Gold Rush Acoustic Band.

Dave Clark

Dave has been a fan of acoustic guitar music since he was very young. Growing up in southern New Hampshire in the ’70s, he was always very moved by the many great players who came through the area to perform. Since that time he has worked with some of his favorite artists, including Elton John’s guitarist, Caleb Quaye, and singer/songwriter Christopher Cross. Dave spent the last 25 years in Los Angeles, being very active in many styles of music including country rock, gospel (performing at the world-famous Gospel Brunch at House of Blues), ’70s classic rock as well as praise music. Dave has now fulfilled a life-long dream by joining the Gold Rush Acoustic Band — beautiful harmonies, timeless songs and wonderful friends…
